Modify subscription

Modifying a Qoder CN Enterprise Edition subscription mainly refers to increasing or reducing the number of licenses. If the number of purchased licenses in the organization is insufficient, complete the modification in time to keep developers in the organization served. This topic describes how to modify the Qoder CN Standard Edition and Dedicated Edition subscriptions.
  • Starting from 12:00 (UTC+8) on May 20, 2026, Qoder CN (formerly Lingma) has adjusted its pricing. Renewal orders placed after this time follow the new pricing. See Billing.

Prerequisites

  • You have purchased one of the following editions with your Alibaba Cloud account:
  • You are logged in with the organization's Alibaba Cloud account or an authorized RAM user under that account (the RAM user must have the AliyunRDCFullAccess policy). You can then modify the organization instance subscription.
  • Before the Qoder CN Standard Edition service order expires, you can upgrade or downgrade. Before the Qoder CN Dedicated Edition service order expires, you can only upgrade.

Billing rules for adding seats

This section describes the fees and Credits proration rules when adding seats via upgrade for the Enterprise Editions (Enterprise Standard Edition and Enterprise VPC Edition). For refund rules on downgrade, refer to the refund rules referenced in the later "Downgrade" sections.

Basic rules

The Enterprise Edition is purchased per seat. Taking Enterprise Standard Edition as an example: each seat is 99 CNY/month and includes 3000 Credits/month; the first purchase requires at least 1 seat. After the first purchase, the system automatically creates an enterprise instance, and the enterprise administrator can manage members and assign seats within the enterprise. Effectiveness and billing rules for seats:
  • A seat starts counting from when the order is paid and the subscription takes effect. Whether the enterprise administrator has assigned the seat to a specific member does not affect the seat's effective time or validity.
  • Newly added seats do not restart a new full monthly cycle; they expire together with the current enterprise subscription cycle.
  • The fees and Credits for newly added seats are prorated based on the time remaining in the current cycle.
Example: An enterprise purchases 3 seats on June 1, and the subscription takes effect immediately. Even if the administrator assigns one of the seats to a member only on June 5, that seat is still billed and dated starting from June 1.

Formula

Newly added seat fees and Credits are prorated by "remaining time as a share of the full billing cycle" (to the second):
  • Additional seat fee = 99 CNY × remaining seconds in current cycle ÷ total seconds in current full billing cycle
  • Additional seat Credits = 3000 Credits × remaining seconds in current cycle ÷ total seconds in current full billing cycle (rounded up)
Notes:
  • Total seconds in the current full billing cycle are counted by actual cycle days (30 days as 30, 31 days as 31, 28 days as 28).
  • Credits results are rounded up to the nearest integer (for example, a per-second result of 1000.3 Credits rounds up to 1001 Credits).
Therefore, the seat Credits an enterprise member actually receives can be 3000 Credits, 1001 Credits, 1500 Credits, or any other prorated value. Example: The enterprise's current subscription cycle is June 1 to July 1 (30 days). Adding 1 seat halfway through the cycle covers only about half of the cycle. The fee and Credits are approximately:
  • Fee: 99 CNY × 50% = 49.5 CNY
  • Credits: 3000 × 50% = 1500 Credits
The actual amount and Credits are calculated to the second based on the order time.

FAQ

Why do different members receive different amounts of Credits? The Credits amount a member receives depends on how much time was left in the subscription cycle when the enterprise purchased that seat:
  • If the enterprise purchased the seat at the start of the cycle, that seat carries full-cycle entitlements—3000 Credits.
  • If the seat was added mid-cycle, it covers only the remaining time in the current cycle; both the fee and Credits are prorated.
That is why different members within the enterprise may see different Credits amounts. Simply put: seats "take effect immediately upon purchase and expire with the current enterprise cycle." Seats purchased for the full cycle receive full price and full Credits; seats added mid-cycle pay only for the remaining cycle and receive only the corresponding Credits.

Upgrade the Standard Edition

For upgrade billing rules, see Upgrade billing description.
Upgrading Qoder CN Standard Edition means purchasing additional licenses. When the organization's Qoder CN Standard Edition service is in use, you can purchase additional licenses in 2 ways.

Method 1: From the organization instance details

For the enterprise's Alibaba Cloud account, or authorized RAM users under it:
  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console and go to the Alibaba Cloud Qoder CN console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instance Management. In the Standard Edition organization list, find the target organization and click its name.
  3. On the Qoder CN service card, click Go to Purchase More Licenses to start the upgrade.

Method 2: From the Qoder CN organization console

Scope: Applies only to Qoder CN (formerly Lingma). For the enterprise's Alibaba Cloud account:
  1. Go to the Qoder CN console.
  2. Confirm the organization name on the Overview page, then click Purchase More Licenses on the Basic Information card to start the upgrade.

Downgrade the Standard Edition

For downgrade refund rules, see Unsubscribe rules.
Downgrading Qoder CN Standard Edition means reducing (i.e., unsubscribing) part of the licenses while the service is in use in the organization. Perform the following steps as the enterprise's Alibaba Cloud account:
  1. Get the order instance ID. Go to the My Orders page, find the Qoder CN Standard Edition purchase record you want to downgrade, and copy the asset/resource instance ID from the target order—this is the order instance ID.
  2. Replace the instance ID in the URL below, then open it to complete the downgrade based on the on-page instructions.
    https://common-buy.aliyun.com/?commodityCode=lingma_enterpriseStandard_public_cn&orderType=DOWNGRADE&instanceId=INSTANCE_ID

After the downgrade, if the new license count is less than the number of already-authorized developers, the system automatically disables authorizations as follows:
  1. First, disable authorizations that were granted but never activated.
  2. Next, disable authorizations that were activated but never used.
  3. Finally, disable authorizations in order of last-active time, from oldest to most recent.
The disabling continues until the number of authorized developers equals the new license count after downgrade. To restore disabled developers, first remove developers who no longer need authorization so that there are enough licenses, then restore previously disabled developers.

Upgrade the Dedicated Edition

For upgrade billing rules, see Upgrade billing description.
Upgrading Qoder CN Dedicated Edition means purchasing additional licenses. When the enterprise's Qoder CN Dedicated Edition service is in use, you can purchase additional licenses. For the enterprise's Alibaba Cloud account, or authorized RAM users under it:
  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console and go to the Alibaba Cloud Qoder CN console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instance Management. In the Dedicated Edition organization list, find the target organization and click its name.
  3. On the Qoder CN service card, click Go to Purchase More Licenses to start the upgrade.

Downgrade the Dedicated Edition

For downgrade refund rules, see Unsubscribe rules.
Downgrading Qoder CN Dedicated Edition means reducing (i.e., unsubscribing) part of the licenses while the service is in use in the organization. Perform the following steps as the enterprise's Alibaba Cloud account:
  1. Get the order instance ID. Go to the My Orders page, find the Qoder CN Dedicated Edition purchase record you want to downgrade, and copy the asset/resource instance ID—this is the order instance ID.
  2. Replace the instance ID in the URL below, then open it to complete the downgrade based on the on-page instructions.
    https://common-buy.aliyun.com/?commodityCode=lingma_enterpriseDedicated_public_cn&orderType=DOWNGRADE&instanceId=INSTANCE_ID

A downgrade cannot proceed if the new license count is less than the number of currently authorized licenses in the enterprise. Go to Enterprise Management Backend > License Management to revoke some user licenses first, or adjust the license count and try again.
