Learn how fees and Credits are prorated when seats are added to a Qoder CN enterprise instance during a billing cycle.
Qoder CN Enterprise Standard Edition and Enterprise VPC are purchased by seat. You can add seats at any time during a subscription cycle. The fee and Credits for each new seat are prorated based on the remaining time in the current cycle.
Using Enterprise Standard Edition as an example, each complete billing cycle includes the following rules:
A purchased seat becomes effective when the order is paid and the subscription takes effect. Whether the administrator has assigned the seat to a member does not affect its effective time or validity period.
Example: An enterprise purchases three seats on June 1, and the subscription takes effect immediately. Even if an administrator does not assign one of the seats to a member until June 5, billing and validity for that seat still start on June 1.
Seats can be added at any time during the subscription cycle as an expansion configuration change.
The fee for a new seat is calculated according to the proportion of the billing cycle that remains:
New seat fee = CNY 99 × remaining seconds in the current cycle ÷ total seconds in the complete billing cycle
The calculation uses the following rules:
Credits for a new seat are prorated using the same remaining-time ratio:
Credits for a new seat = 3,000 Credits × remaining seconds in the current cycle ÷ total seconds in the complete billing cycle
The calculated number of Credits is rounded up to the nearest whole Credit.
Example: If a new seat covers approximately one-third of the remaining cycle, it receives about 1,000 Credits. If the calculation to the second results in 1,000.3 Credits, the system rounds the allocation up to 1,001 Credits.
The amount of Credits associated with a seat depends on how much time remains in the enterprise subscription cycle when the seat is purchased.
Basic subscription rules
Using Enterprise Standard Edition as an example, each complete billing cycle includes the following rules:
- Price per seat: CNY 99 per month.
- Credits per seat: 3,000 Credits per month.
- At least one seat is required for the initial purchase.
- An enterprise instance is created automatically after the initial purchase succeeds.
Seat effective time
A purchased seat becomes effective when the order is paid and the subscription takes effect.
Rules for adding seats
Seats can be added at any time during the subscription cycle as an expansion configuration change.
- A new seat does not start a separate full monthly cycle. It expires together with the current enterprise subscription cycle.
- The fee and Credits for the new seat are prorated based on the remaining time in the current cycle.
Fee calculation for added seats
The fee for a new seat is calculated according to the proportion of the billing cycle that remains:
New seat fee = CNY 99 × remaining seconds in the current cycle ÷ total seconds in the complete billing cycle
The calculation uses the following rules:
- Remaining time is calculated to the second.
- The total seconds in the complete billing cycle are based on the actual number of days in the cycle, such as 30, 31, or 28 days.
CNY 99 × 50% = CNY 49.5. The actual amount is calculated to the second based on the order time.
Credit calculation for added seats
Credits for a new seat are prorated using the same remaining-time ratio:
Credits for a new seat = 3,000 Credits × remaining seconds in the current cycle ÷ total seconds in the complete billing cycle
The calculated number of Credits is rounded up to the nearest whole Credit.
Example: If a new seat covers approximately one-third of the remaining cycle, it receives about 1,000 Credits. If the calculation to the second results in 1,000.3 Credits, the system rounds the allocation up to 1,001 Credits.
FAQ
Why do members receive different amounts of Credits?
The amount of Credits associated with a seat depends on how much time remains in the enterprise subscription cycle when the seat is purchased.
- A seat purchased at the beginning of the subscription cycle receives the full-cycle benefit of 3,000 Credits.
- A seat added partway through the subscription cycle covers only the remaining time, so both its fee and Credits are prorated.
