Task management

Find, focus, continue, archive, and restore Qoder CN tasks from the sidebar.

Qoder CN keeps each conversation as a task. As the list grows, use the sidebar to return to existing work, narrow what is visible, or put away items that no longer need attention. Coding organizes tasks by workspace, while General organizes them by folder. This page covers existing tasks. To begin new work, see Start a new task.

Return to an existing task

If the task is visible in the sidebar, select its name to continue. Recent tasks provides quick access to recent conversations. Tasks shown inside a workspace or folder retain the relevant project context. When the list is long or you do not remember the title, select Search in the sidebar. Enter text from the task title, a user message, or an Agent response. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to move through the results, then press Enter to open the selected task. If the list shows that a task failed or needs attention, open it to inspect the details and decide how to continue.

Focus the task list

Select Customize task view beside Workspaces or Folders. Sorting and filtering change only what the sidebar shows; they do not move or delete tasks.

Choose how the list is sorted

Open Sort by, then choose the option that matches how you return to work:
  • Select Recently updated when you usually continue the tasks that changed most recently.
  • Select Manual when you want frequently used workspaces or folders to stay in fixed positions, then drag them into the preferred order.
  • Select Name when your projects follow a consistent naming convention.
  • Select Creation time when you need to find projects in the order they were added.

Narrow the list by workspace

Open Workspace. Select a specific workspace to show only its tasks, No workspace to find tasks that are not associated with a workspace, or All to show every workspace again.

Narrow the list by recent activity

Open Recent activity and select Today, Last 7 days, or Last 30 days to show tasks with conversation or execution activity during that period. Select All to remove the time filter. The workspace and recent-activity filters work together. For example, select a workspace and Last 7 days to focus on its tasks that were active during the past week.

Restore the full list

If a task seems to be missing after filtering, open Customize task view and select Restore Defaults. Qoder CN clears the filters and restores the default sorting method without changing task content.

Keep a workspace easy to reach

Open the More menu beside a workspace:
  • Select Pin for a workspace you use frequently.
  • Select Edit when its name or associated information needs to change.
  • Select Archive workspace when a project is no longer active but may still be useful later. The workspace and its tasks leave the active list without being immediately deleted.

Continue an existing task

Open the task and use the composer to add requirements, provide new context, or iterate on its result. The task retains the earlier conversation and workspace information, so you do not need to restate established background. Below an Agent response, you can copy the content, mark the response helpful or unhelpful, or create a branch task from that response to explore a different approach. When a related item needs its own line of work, open the task's More menu and select Start Side task. The side task has its own conversation, so you can keep the current task while progressing on the related item.
Start Side task is shown for supported regular tasks and is not available for voice tasks. A side task is temporary and disappears when you close Qoder CN, so move any result you need to keep into the main task or project files before quitting.

Organize or hand off a task

Open the task's More menu and choose an action based on your goal:
  • Select Rename to make the task easier to recognize. Use Pin or Mark as unread when you need to return to it later.
  • Select Open in New Window when you need to view two tasks at the same time.
  • Select Export history to save or share the conversation. Select Copy task ID when you need to identify the task in feedback or troubleshooting.
  • Select Archive when the task no longer needs to remain in the active list.

Archive, restore, or delete

Archive old tasks or workspaces when they no longer need regular attention but may still be useful later. Archived content leaves the active sidebar without being immediately deleted. To show it again or remove it permanently:
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Archived tasks.
  3. Find the workspace or task, then restore or permanently delete it.
Use Search archived tasks to find an item by name and Filter project to limit the list to one project. Delete all permanently removes every item currently in the archive, so use it only after checking the filter and confirming that no record needs to be restored.
Permanently deleted records cannot be restored. Archive an item first when you may need it again.
