Qoder for Rokid AI Glasses

Product Overview

Use real-time voice to launch Qoder whenever you need it, so you can speak naturally while looking at your work. Approvals and key progress updates appear directly in front of you, allowing you to handle important decisions at a glance. Screens, whiteboards, and real-world work environments can also be brought into a task from your first-person perspective, giving Qoder the visual and situational context it needs to understand and carry out your instructions.

Getting Started

First-time setup takes six steps and approximately five minutes. After setup, you can launch Qoder directly by voice whenever you need it.

Preparation

Step 1: Install Rokid AI and pair your glasses

Search for and download the Rokid AI app from your phone’s app store, then follow the in-app instructions to pair your glasses.

Step 2: Download the Qoder mobile app

Search for and download either Qoder or Qoder CN from the app store. Both versions are supported.
Do not skip this step. The QR code required in Step 5 is located in the Qoder mobile app. After pairing, the mobile app is also where you can view task results from the glasses, respond to choices that require your confirmation, and read full-length content.

Installation and Account Linking

Step 3: Install Qoder from the Agent Store

Open Rokid AI → Home → Agent Store → search for “Qoder” or “小Q” → Install.

Step 4: Launch Xiao Q on the glasses

Put on the glasses and say the following phrase exactly as shown: 「乐奇,打开小Q」 “乐奇” is the system wake phrase for Rokid glasses and is used to launch Xiao Q. Once Xiao Q is open, you no longer need a wake phrase. Simply start speaking whenever you like, and you can interrupt it at any time. Open Qoder mobile app → Settings → tap the QR code to the right of your nickname at the top. While wearing the glasses, scan the QR code to complete account linking.

Step 6: Start using Qoder

Once the account is linked, Qoder is ready to use. To confirm that everything is connected, try saying: “Tell me briefly what this project is for.”

Key Features

1. Everyday Questions

Ask whenever you need help—no wake phrase and no typing required. This is especially useful when your hands are busy on the keyboard or when you are on the move. Try saying:
  • “Write a research report on the AI glasses industry.”
  • “Find the latest trending topics in the AI industry.”
How Qoder responds: Qoder answers conversationally and usually summarizes the result in two sentences. It will not force lengthy analysis into the glasses display. Instead, it reads the summary aloud and sends the full content to your phone.
Interrupt at any time: You can speak while Qoder is still talking—for example, “Stop. Only tell me about the backend.” You do not need to wait for it to finish or repeat the wake phrase. This is a key difference between the glasses experience and push-to-talk interaction, and it is worth trying during your first session.

2. Cloud Tasks

Hand off an entire piece of work to Qoder. The task runs in the cloud, so you can walk away as soon as you finish speaking. Try saying:
  • “Implement the export feature and run the tests when it’s done.”
  • “Fix this error and run the tests afterward.”
  • “Check what’s left on the page from last time and finish it.”
How it works:
  1. Qoder accepts the task and continues running it in the background. You can go to a meeting or get a drink while the work continues.
  2. If it reaches a decision that requires your input, Qoder proactively asks you and reads the options one by one. Simply say “the second one” to choose—no device interaction is required. The Qoder mobile app will also notify you when confirmation is needed.
  3. When the task is complete, Qoder sends a notification. Tap the temple of the glasses once to hear a summary; the full result is sent to your phone.
Qoder remembers your project: Because the project context carries over, you can simply say, “Continue and finish the page from last time,” without explaining the background again. A single voice instruction carries far less information than typed text, so persistent project context is essential for effective voice-based task delegation.

3. Desktop Tasks (Check / Create)

Qoder on your glasses and Qoder on your computer share the same workspace. After leaving your desk, you can still check tasks running on your computer or send new work to the computer for execution. Check—ask about a desktop task:
  • “Has that task on my desktop finished?”
  • “What is currently running on my computer?”
Create—send a new task to your computer:
  • “Start a task on my computer to update the styling of the login page.”
Why it matters: Tasks often outlast the time you spend sitting at your desk. Your computer can stay at the workstation while the glasses go with you, so you do not need to walk back just to check progress.

4. Camera Capture

Let Qoder see what you are looking at. The glasses do not have a viewfinder: what you see is what the camera captures. Look directly at the target and speak. Try saying:
  • “Take a picture. What is the problem here?”—for an error dialog or an issue shown on a physical device.
  • “Take a picture of the whiteboard and turn these items into tasks.”—for a meeting whiteboard or a paper process diagram.
  • “Take a picture and update it to match this.”—for a design mockup or someone else’s screen.
How it works: Before taking further action, Qoder describes what it sees and asks you to confirm. This reduces errors caused by the lack of a viewfinder. If the description is incorrect, simply correct it aloud or ask it to take another picture. Why this experience is unique to glasses: A phone can also take pictures, but you must take it out, hold it up, and aim it. With the glasses, you only need to look at the target. This is especially useful for whiteboards, paper documents, physical devices, and other people’s screens—things that are difficult to describe verbally but are already right in front of you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to say “乐奇” every time I speak?

No.「乐奇,打开小Q」is only used to launch Xiao Q. Once Xiao Q is open, no wake phrase is needed—just start speaking.

Q: Qoder is speaking, but I want to change my request. Do I have to wait?

No. Start speaking to interrupt it, and Qoder will immediately switch to your new instruction.

Q: I cannot see the full content on the glasses. Is something wrong?

No. The glasses only display single-line text prompts and voice status. Conclusions are read aloud, while long-form content, comparison data, and original images are sent to your phone. This is an intentional design decision: displaying code or tables in a single line of green text would not be useful.

Q: Do I need to keep wearing the glasses while a task runs in the background?

No. You do not need to remain in place or keep the glasses on. The task continues in the background and Qoder notifies you when it is complete. To hear a notification through the glasses, put them on and tap the temple once. You can also view the result directly on your phone.

Q: Why does Qoder suddenly ask me a question?

When it reaches a decision that requires your input, Qoder asks proactively instead of pausing and waiting for you to check. It reads the options one by one; simply say the option number, such as “the second one,” to make your choice.

Q: How do I open a notification? Can I use voice control?

Tap the temple once to view a notification. Notifications can only be opened with a single temple tap and cannot be opened by voice. This is the only manual action required on the glasses; everything else is handled by voice.

Q: What should I do if I see an insufficient quota message?

Subscribe through the official Qoder website, then reopen the app to continue.

Q: What should I do if initialization fails or Qoder cannot connect?

Double-tap the temple to exit the current page. Check your network connection, then launch Xiao Q again.

Q: What if Qoder misidentifies the captured scene?

Before acting, Qoder describes what it sees. Correct it aloud at that point or ask it to take another picture. Keep the target centered in your field of view, avoid dark environments, and watch for glare when capturing a screen.

Q: Can I use it in a noisy environment?

Wake-free interaction relies on continuous audio capture, so speech-recognition accuracy may decrease in noisy environments.

Q: Is the camera always recording?

No. The camera is activated only when you explicitly ask Qoder to take a picture.
